Green Building Status: Tower 185 fulfils all requirements of the international LEED Gold Green Building Certification

 

Tower 185 fulfils the strict criteria for LEED Gold certification. LEED – Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – defines standards for environmentally-friendly, resource-conserving and sustainable construction. The internationally recognised classification system was developed in 1998 by the USA-based Green Building Council and has been continuously updated in line with changing requirements.

LEED classification is determined by awarding points in the following categories:

 

 

• Sustainable construction site
  (e.g. environmental protection during construction)
• Efficient use of water
  (e.g. innovative waste-water systems)
• Energy and air quality
  (e.g. optimisation of energy requirements)
• Materials and resources
  (e.g. recycling, use of local resources)
• Health and comfort
  (e.g. no smoking policy, indoor environmental quality)
